Dr. Emlyne St. Helen, DNP, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who has been practicing as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner since 2015. She brings more than a decade of diverse clinical experience providing compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric and behavioral health care.
Her professional experience spans inpatient psychiatry, outpatient mental health, telehealth/telepsychiatry, consultation-liaison psychiatry, community mental health, and inpatient substance use management. This broad clinical background has provided her with extensive experience evaluating and treating individuals with a wide range of psychiatric, behavioral, substance use, and co-occurring medical conditions.
Dr. St. Helen has a particular interest in geriatric psychiatry, dementia care, psychotherapy, substance use disorders, and complex psychiatric conditions across the adult lifespan. Her approach integrates comprehensive psychiatric assessment, medication management, psychotherapy, patient and family education, and holistic interventions while recognizing the interconnectedness of mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
She earned her Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner degree in 2015 and her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in 2020 from Virginia Commonwealth University. Dr. St. Helen remains committed to delivering individualized, respectful, and comprehensive mental health care while empowering patients and families throughout their journey toward improved well-being and quality of life.
